Nevada Residents - Don't Pay Too Much for your Property Taxes

Dec. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- As your Realtor® and friend, I wanted to make sure you are not paying too much for your property taxes.  
Recently you have received or will soon receive a letter from the Clark County Assessor's Office stating the 2011 assessed value of your home and/or the assessed value of any investment properties you own.  Due to the recent decline of home values in Clark County it is common that this assessment is higher than the current market value of your property. Left uncorrected this may result in you paying more than your fair share in property tax for the 2011/2012 tax year.  
If, you believe your assessment is in error, you may appeal to the Clark County Assessor's Office by calling 702-455-3882 and requesting a “Notice of Value and Valuation Appeals form” be sent to you.  
The appeals process does not cost you anything but time, and an attorney is not necessary.  However, the appeal must be made by January 15, 2011, in order to be considered for review.
