Dec. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- A new custom calendar company started by veteran Encinitas surfer John Conover is helping nonprofits raise easy money.  

Starting this week, Surfrider Foundation is directing San Diego supporters to a new website where they can create their own calendar using photos of family and friends and choose tides from anywhere in the United States. Of the $19.95 sales price, Surfrider’s local chapter earns $10. It’s that simple.

As an ocean activist back in the 1990s, Conover founded the Surfrider’s San Diego chapter in 1990.  His new calendar company, CalendarLink.org, helps nonprofits raise funds by selling a product their supporters already want to buy.

Conover is also known in the surfing community as the creator of regional tide calendars featuring tide graphs and spectacular ocean photography.  He founded Tidelines, Inc. in 1981 and today sells more than 300,000 tide calendars and books annually throughout the United States, Mexico and Australia.
