Follow on Google News | Greenest Building in China Adopts Flexible Space ConceptAET Flexible Space are proud to announce their participation in the Parkview Green development, Beijing. This Project will become China's first building to achieve the highest level LEED Platinum certification.
The complex consists of over two million square feet of mixed use space in four separate buildings enveloped in a glass and ETFT outer skin. This envelope creates a contained micro-climate with a high degree of thermal insulation, thus reducing energy consumption throughout the buildings life cycle, in a city that experiences extreme climatic variations. The objective of the design was to create a technologically advanced or intelligent building that promotes energy efficiency not only for the developer, but also for the visitors and occupiers. Leo Hwang of the Hong Kong Parkview Group, developers of the project says, “In terms of office space we have one of the most innovative offerings on the market, not only in China, but in the world.” The office space utilises a hybrid HVAC system combining chilled ceilings with the AET Flexible Space under floor air conditioning system. A sustainable option, this choice features relatively low energy consumption compared with conventional air conditioning systems, facilitates modifications during tenant fit out works and provides the end user with personal controls to optimise their thermal comfort zone. Combining the highly insulated interior with the hybrid air conditioning system is calculated to offer savings of 60% energy consumption in spring and autumn, 20% in summer and 70% in winter. To achieve LEED Platinum status, a building must score 80 out of a potential 100 points in seven categories. The adoption of the Flexible Space products contribute to the total score primarily through energy saving capability, superior indoor air quality, reusable components and also the controls function, due to the end user having the ability to control their own personal environment. This highlights the integral nature of the Flexible Space concept and demonstrates how working closely with the design team and engineers, these innovative products can be incorporated into a fully integrated green building approach. # # # Manufacturer and Supplier of AET Flexible Space under floor air distribution system and related building services products.
