Acer will reveal multiple tablet devices

Nov. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- On November 23rd 2010,Acer plans to launch many tablet devices at an event in New York (U.S) with different operating systems and forms.
The market has been waiting for Android version 3.0 of Google mobile software to use in tablets, the president and CEO of Acer- Gianfranco Lanci, said, but he did not say whether Acer planned an Android tablet or not.
Mr.Lanci is quite optimistic about tablet sales and forecasting that the global market in 2011 will reach 40 million to 50 million tablets. Finally, he believed that Acer can take from 15 percent to 20 percent  of tablets market.
The tablet market heated up after Apple launched the iPad, and several companies followed Apple’s footsteps with similar products that use touchscreens, such as Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Tab.
With the rise of the tablets, it is concerned that sales of netbook appear will be slow down, but Lanci is not worried about the effect on Acer’s net book sales.“We do not see that the tablet beats the netbook, excepting in the U.S.,” he said.
Acer also mention about a plan that a new application store for will be launched for all types of devices it sells (from desktop computers to laptops, smartphones) and many operating systems, including Windows, MeeGo and Android. Acer calls this store the NGS (New Generation Store).
