Graham Holmberg named "The Fittest Man in the World".

Top athletes really saw improvement as a result of adding PROGENEX to their daily training regimens. Might this be the new 'fastfood' for the next decade?

Nov. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Graham Holmberg named "the Fittest Man in the World" at the CrossFit Games.Top athletes really saw improvement as a result of adding PROGENEX to their daily training regimens. 11.01.2010– Graham Holmberg has a reputation for being that hard-working, humble, no-frills competitor. He goes into a competition and quietly finds a way to win. This Team Rogue athlete seems to turn heads with his performance alone, a mark of a great competitor. In 2009, with little fanfare, he competed and finished in the top 20. An amazing feat in itself, Graham picked up his training for the fourth annual CrossFit Games in the Home Depot Center. And he did so with little distraction. Few, if anyone, predicted him as a top competitor in 2010; his easy demeanor and silent work ethic were more responsible for this oversight by the fans.

And so begins the story of how PROGENEX and Graham were introduced to one another. At the Central East Regional, the first event was “The Complex” or 5,4,3,2,1 of muscle-ups, power cleans, front squats, over head squats, and back squats. The barbell movements were performed in tandem, adding to the intensity of the event. After finishing first overall in event one of five, Graham approached PROGENEX and we fueled his post-event recovery for the first time. Like several of the other athletes, the common theme around the event was “I feel great, what’s in that stuff??”

The Central East Regional hosted four more events”, The 5K (16th),The Deadlift(18th), The Chipper (3rd), and the Final (6th), Graham stopped by each and every time for a recovery drink.

Graham went on to place third in the Central East Regional, qualifying for the CrossFit Games. However he still went relatively unnoticed as other top athletes: Rob Orlando, Jason Khalipa, David Lipson, and Josh Everett were viewed as the front runners. PROGENEX was one of the first to sponsor Graham. After the Central East Regional, Graham began to train to win. His short-term goal was to improve his training intensity and the volume of his training prior to The Games.

Graham’s goal was to perform even better at the 2010 CrossFit Games than he had in the 2009 or 2010 regional competitions. Much like the Central East Regional and other national and international qualifiers, the buzz around PROGENEX at the 2010 CrossFit Games was deafening. People were seeing an improvement in recovery time and performance capacity. The Games athletes flocked to the PROGENEX table after nearly each event and every workout. The sentiments were generally the same, the athletes felt fresh and they wanted to know if it was really PROGENEX that made an impact on their ability to recover. “What’s in this stuff?”, you’d hear often.

Well, to answer your question: Promorphogen (Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate), Less than 5g of Fructose, Natural Flavoring, and a trace amount of Sucralose. We listened to what the CrossFit community wanted and delivered a highly effective, great tasting recovery powder. We avoided detrimental ingredients like Soy, Aspartame, and unproven substances like “gamma-oryzanol” that you would find in competing Post-Workout Recovery supplements. Of course, our improvements to Recovery and More Muscle improved the efficacy of both products.

After supplementing for performance with PROGENEX, Graham was able to train at the highest level. He lifted harder, moved faster, and flat out trained more often. What was the result? A nearly dominant performance at the 2010 CrossFit Games. In nine events, Graham finished outside of the top 6th all but twice. Even more, Graham was in the top-three in five of nine events. The World’s Fittest Man saw a vast improvement in recovery time and durability between the Central East Regional and the 2010 CrossFit Games.

Those days at the Home Depot Center were eye-opening for us. With so many of the top athletes coming by for recovery drinks, it showed us that athletes’ spoke highly of the Recovery and the More Muscle products. The top athletes really saw improvement as a result of adding PROGENEX to their daily training regimens.

Graham’s story is a powerful one. It taught us that athletically dominant athletes aren’t always the most visible. The best athletes are seldom the most boisterous. We’d like to congratulate Graham Holmberg for signing a deal with Reebok. He’s come a long way to reach what success he has and we are proud to be a sponsor of his.
