Follow on Google News | Last Chance For Ruth, Namath, Ali Items In Steiner Sports Catalog AuctionTime Running Out As Bids Accepted through Thursday On Hundreds Of Pieces Of Memorabilia
By: Jerry Milani An iconic 1948 Babe Ruth autographed baseball, likely one of the last he ever signed, also hand-signed by members of the Cincinnati Reds during a spring training game, is one of the unique pieces available in the auction, which features items with the likenesses and signatures of dozens of Hall of Famers from numerous sports. The old Yankee Stadium collection also includes: an authentic bullpen phone from Bronx baseball cathedral, hand-signed by future Hall of Fame reliever Mariano Rivera with the inscription “Enter Sandman” that greets his appearances, an outfield wall panel inscribed “Warrior” and signed by 1990’s hero Paul O’Neill, and old Stadium seatback with 38 Yankee signatures, including the captain Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, and Reggie Jackson. Also among the more than 250 items up for bid include pieces signed by Joe Namath, Eli Manning, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and other sports stars, as well as many artifacts from both the old Yankee Stadium and old Giants Stadium. # # # About Steiner Sports Established in 1987 by founder and CEO Brandon Steiner, Steiner Sports has been a leader in sports memorabilia and sports marketing for over two decades and enjoys working relationships with many of the top athletes in sports today.
