Karen Carpenter of Hillard Heintze to Aid National Students Against Violence Everywhere

The National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), has announced that Karen Carpenter, Director of Mortgage Investigations and Verification Service for Hillard Heintze, has been named to the organization’s board of directors.

November 4, 2010, RALEIGH, N.C. — Carleen Wray, Executive Director of the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), has announced that Karen Carpenter, Director of Mortgage Investigations and Verification Service for Hillard Heintze, has been named to the organization’s board of directors.  As a board member, Carpenter will commit to and uphold the vision, mission and strategic plan of SAVE.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Karen Carpenter is now helping Hillard Heintze clients meet their strategic mortgage investigations and verification objectives.  Prior to joining Hillard Heintze, Carpenter served as the Director of Investigations for the mortgage insurance division of Genworth Financial. She also participated in both arbitration and litigation cases for Genworth and led numerous projects to uncover mortgage fraud rings throughout the country.  One of Genworth’s most valued employees, Carpenter earned numerous awards for both her professional achievements as well as her volunteer efforts.  Carpenter was awarded Genworth’s 2008 “Changing the World Award” recognizing her contributions to the Center For Volunteer Caregiving (CVC), Paw Prints Animal Rescue, Duke Children’s Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association.  She also received the 2008 CVC Caregiver Award for her outstanding efforts.  A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Carpenter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.  She also received her Greenbelt certification in the Six Sigma program at GE.

SAVE is a student-run, student-initiated public nonprofit violence prevention organization with more than 1,900 chapters in 47 states and more than 200,000 members in elementary, middle, high schools, colleges and communities nationwide.  

“We are thrilled to have Karen join SAVE’s board of directors,” said Wray.  “She brings a combination of nonprofit experience, financial skills and strategic vision which will benefit SAVE as it examines its future goals, objectives and direction.”
