According to The State of Our Union, a joint publication of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia and the Center for Marriage and Families at the Institute for American Values, the American divorce rate today is nearly twice that of 1960, but has declined since hitting the highest point in our history in the early 1980’s. For the average couple marrying for the first time in recent years, the lifetime probability of divorce or separation remains between 40 and 50 percent.

Dr. Chester said, “The divorce rate is alarming. People plan all the time, yet when it comes to marriage, they are afraid to talk. In order to have the best marriage possible, you must have the correct tools. Premarital Counseling gives you the proper tools.”
