October 31, 2010: HickoryTech Corporation  announced that its Board of Directors voted to declare a quarterly dividend of $0.135 per share, representing a 3.7 percent increase over the previous $0.13 per share dividend. The $0.135 dividend is payable on Dec. 5, 2010 to shareholders of record on Nov. 15, 2010. HickoryTech has a long history of paying a cash dividend to shareholders that spans more than 60 years. The company last increased its quarterly dividend in 2008.

October 31, 2010: During the next two months VerizonCommunications  Verizon FiOS TV customers will have a chance to see more 3D programming, with the launch of 10 feature films on demand.  Beginning with the premiere of "Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore" on Nov. 16, and ending with "Disney's A Christmas Carol" and "Step Up 3D" in December, Verizon will make a series of video-on-demand titles available in 3D throughout the next two months.  More titles will follow early next year.  The seven other 3D films, which will be available beginning Nov. 16, are: "Chicken Little," "Bolt" and "Meet the Robinsons" from Walt Disney Pictures, and "Journey to the Center of the Earth," "Under the Sea," "Deep Sea" and "NASCAR" from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.

October 31, 2010: AT&T Inc.  and NBA Digital announced the launch of NBA TV on AT&T U-verse® TV, giving customers access to the NBA season through live games and original programming. NBA TV is available at no additional charge as part of the U-verse TV U300 package on channel 632 and part of the HD Technology fee on channel 1632.  NBA TV, the NBA's 24-hour television network, offers up to 275 live games throughout the year, more than any other professional sports league television network, and signature studio shows featuring an Emmy Award-winning roster of announcers. The network is a fan's all-access channel for everything basketball, delivering breaking news, scores, and original programming — in both standard definition and HD. As NBA TV tips off its 12th season, the network is now in approximately 55 million U.S. homes.

October 31, 2010: Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc.  reported results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2010. Total revenues for the third quarter were $205.0 million, of which total wireless service revenues represented $173.0 million, or 84%. This significant increase over last year’s third quarter total revenues of $66.1 million resulted from the Company’s acquisition of certain former Alltel Wireless retail markets, licenses and network assets, which closed on April 26, 2010. U.S. wireless service revenues totaled $158.8 million, or 77% of total revenues, for the quarter. The Company ended the quarter with approximately 1.1 million wireless subscribers across all markets.

October 31, 2010: Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc.  reported financial results for its third quarter ended September 30, 2010.  “Our data-driven strategy continues to frame all we do and shape the results we achieve,” said Liane Pelletier, ACS president and chief executive officer. “In the quarter, we introduced a new brand identity built for and tested by our target customers, and we launched phase one of a new web site. In the wireless segment, we added more Android-powered smartphones helping to drive penetration of data-centric devices to 30 percent of post paid subscribers, up from 26 percent a quarter ago and 14 percent a year ago. Postpaid data ARPU grew to $11.73, up nearly $1 sequentially and up over $3 annually, still well below national carrier levels.”
