Compare Windows Phone 7 OS Mobiles - HTC 7 Trophy Vs HTC 7 Surround

Oct. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- HTC announced two new phones that will run on Windows Phone 7 – HTC Trophy and HTC 7 Surround.  7 Surround focuses more on mobile entertainment as its major highlight is the slide out speaker that provides surround sound. This allows the users to share their favorite music in virtual surround sound with their friends. HTC 7 Trophy, on the other hand, is an affordable choice for the lovers of Windows Phone 7. It features a customizable and easy to navigate interface that increases the user-friendliness of the device.

The display screen is one of the major highlights of both these mobile phones. HTC 7 Surround and Trophy both include a 3.8 inches touch screen display. However, the display of 7 Surround is a capacitive touch screen that boasts 16 million colours and 480 x 800 pixels resolution; while the display of Trophy includes 16 million colours and same display, but it is a Super LCD capacitive touch screen. Accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn off are present in both the devices. However, HTC Trophy includes multi touch input methods as well.

In terms of the  network features, Surround 7 and Trophy supports quad band GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900. For 3G network, Surround 7 supports tri band HSDPA 850/ 1900/ 2100; and Trophy supports the dual band HSDPA 900/ 2100. The common connectivity options of the both the handsets include Class 32 GPRS and EDGE, along with 3G HSDPA up to 7.2 mbps and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Therefore, it is quite obvious that the users can access high speed browsing with the handset. For transferring files to/from other compatible devices, both these HTC models feature Bluetooth v2.1 and microUSB v2.0.

HTC 7 Surround and HTC Trophy both feature an impressive camera. The devices comes loaded with a 5 mega pixel snapper with LED flash and auto focus. There are face detection and geo tagging features as well. The resolution of the camera is 2560х1920 pixels and the video recording capacity is at 720p. Other multimedia features of the devices include music and video players that can play diverse files. The music player can play MP3/ AAC+/ WAV/ WMA9 files; while the video player can stream MP4/ H.263/ H.264/ WMV9 files.
These features ensure that both 7 Surround and Trophy are among the most eagerly awaited devices to run on Windows Phone 7.
