Heery International Awarded Five AltaMed Projects

Oct. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Heery International has been awarded the construction management contract for five projects for AltaMed Health Services Corporation. The contract includes the new construction of the company’s 80,000 SF City of Commerce corporate headquarters, and the renovation of three existing AltaMed clinics and an AltaMed administrative office building.  

“AltaMed Health Services is in a growth mode,” says Heery Senior Project Manager Paul Risko. “Bringing these projects on line is critical to their expansion plans. The new corporate headquarters, for example, will allow them to house their expanding workforce in a single location.”

Construction on AltaMed’s corporate headquarters is already underway, with project completion targeted for September 2011. The three-story, tilt-up concrete structure includes both on-site and off-site parking.  

In Boyle Heights, Heery is managing the renovation of a 20,036-SF, two-story medical and dental clinic. Work includes new exam rooms, patient reception and waiting areas, nurse station, pharmacy expansion, new dental area, offices, restrooms, conference room and staff lounge. The project also includes the demolition and hazardous materials abatement of a one-story, 900-SF structure. Completion is anticipated in June 2011.

Heery is also renovating the 11,459-SF Huntington Beach Medical & Dental Clinic. New exam rooms, nurse stations, patient reception and waiting areas are on tap there as well as new staff lounge, conference room, administrative area, restrooms, elevator controls, IT room and a three-chair dental practice area. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2011.

Work at AltaMed’s 6,117-SF Bell Medical and Dental Clinic includes new exam rooms, patient reception and waiting areas, a revised nurse station, new staff lounge, conference room, administrative areas, a restroom upgrade, new health education center and IT room, and various finish upgrades. Completion is slated for November 2010.

AltaMed’s two-story, 11,267-SF office building in suburban Monterey Park is the only of the four renovation projects not yet underway. Heery will oversee a multi-phased renovation there including restrooms, interior upgrades, offices, staff lounge, call center, conference room, lactation and clinical areas, kitchen, library, outdoor patio and a number of finish revisions. Completion is slated for July 2011.
