With such a massive screen, you do get an enormous resolution of 480 x 800 pixels for the display screen that comes with accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, multi touch input method and proximity sensor for auto turn off. Weighting at just over 137 grams, this is quite a slim phone considering its screen size.

Samsung have always been known for their network connectivity, the new I8700 Omnia stays true to its legacy. The phone comprises both 2G in addition to 3G network connectivity. It supports quad band 2G network of GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 and 3G HSDPA 900/ 2100. Along with network connectivity, the device also possesses an exhaustive list of data connectivity options. It supports the usual GPRS and EDGE and also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and HSDPA operating at 7.2 Mbps speed, for high-speed internet browsing. For mobile communication, Bluetooth is present.

The I8700 will be competing in the multimedia space that is the reason why, multimedia features on the new Omnia 7 is pretty extensive. The device sports a brilliant a 5 mega pixel HD camera with autofocus, that can a capture images at a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and will also record HD videos 720p@25fps. The mobile also features a powerful LED for low light imaging. Other outstanding features include a dedicated music player that can play most audio-video formats. Watching videos on the 4.0 inch Super AMOLED touch screen display is just brilliant as it brings forth every single detail to the core.
