Oct. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- When Microsoft launched its all new Windows 7 operating system for the mobile market, it created a huge buzz, but ever since its launch, there haven’t been too many mobiles launched on this platform as most manufacturers seem to be going the Android way. Korean giant, LG recently announced the launch of their all new LG E900 Optimus 7 that is going run on the latest Windows 7 mobile operating system and will embrace a dedicated Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650 1 GHz processor to take care of all multimedia functionalities. LG has been actively partnering Microsoft for quite some time now and this announcement comes as no surprise. Based on the legendary Optimus series of tablets and smart phones, the LG E900 looks to create new boundaries in the mobile space.

The phone extends brilliant network connectivity, with support extended towards both over 2g as well as 3g networks. LG have specifically boosted signal strength of their internal antenna meaning you will receive signal even when network support is poor. The handset comes with quad band GSM support of 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 and 3G network support of HSDPA 900/ 1900/ 2100. The Optimus 7 provides extensive connectivity with Class 10 GPRS and EDGE that operates over 236.8 kbps. The E900 also boasts of Wi-Fi 802.11 and HSDPA for high speed Internet usage. For short range data transfer the device packs in Bluetooth and USB support.

LG have always made pretty handsets and the LG Optimus 7 is no different. The 16 Million, 3.8 inches capacitive touch screen display is drop dead gorgeous to say the least.  Featuring a resolution of480 x 800 pixels, the device includes a accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, multi touch input method and proximity sensor for auto turn off. Due to the massive screen size and the brilliant display resolution, watching videos and playing games on this beast will definitely be a phenomenal experience.

Competing in the crowded multimedia space can be a challenging task; this said the E900 can hold its own ground quite easily as its brilliant on the multimedia front. The device comes with a decent 5megapixel HD camera that comprises a LED flash along with auto focus and geo-tagging support. The camera can capture images at a maximum resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels and can record HD videos at 720p. Besides the camera, sound is pretty good on the device and the music player supports all popular audio (MP3/ WAV/ WMA/ eAAC+) and video (MP4/ H.264/ H.263/ WMV) formats. To store all your multimedia files, the E900 comes preloaded with 16 GB of internal storage but there is no support for further expansion.
