3D Training Academy Announces New Workshops in Professional Puppetry and 3D Animation & Short Film

Oct. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- In it’s ongoing mission toward education excellence, the 3D Training Academy has developed training workshops in two new exciting areas: 3D Animation & Short Film Production and Professional Puppetry for TV & Film.

As with their highly successful 3D Game Art & Design training, all of the 3D Training Academy’s workshops offer an in-depth, real-world experience, developed and taught by industry working professionals.

Jonathan Little of Boston-based puppet company, Little’s Creatures, will lead the Professional Puppetry workshops. Jon has studied with some of the country’s best television puppeteers whose work ranges from Sesame Street to the Dave Chapelle Show. Learn the basics of lip synch, eye focus, camera set up, and more. You also have the opportunity to purchase your very own professionally crafted puppet, by Jon, to take home with you!

In the 3D Animation & Short Film Production workshops, you will learn a strong foundation in the 3D process, then move on to learn the finer nuances of the animation process like acting, scripting, look development, rigging, 2D pencil tests, pose to pose studies, expressive motion, and lip syncing. The last step is training in post-production film editing. All students will have the opportunity to complete their own 30 second animated short that will be shown at the state-of-the-art theaters at Lincoln Square Cinemas, in Bellevue, Washington. Additionally, select students who have excelled in their training and short film may be invited to continue on as interns. During this internship, students will work on a professionally developed short film that will go on its film festival tour the following year.
