Oct. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- The BD is kind of next generation optical disc which is sweeping the market and bringing in the feeling (and profits) never before experienced. The format, which has been developed by leading companies, holds more power than DVD. The storage capacity has increased and advanced audio and video codecs will offer an unforgettable experience to the users.

But the question is – will you buy or just rent in from DVD rental?

The movie industry seems to love it and is re-releasing their movies in BD format to get in more profits. And if you can’t afford to buy or rather not waste the money, you can also opt for Blu-ray rental. ‘The Expendables’ will re-release a three disc Blu-ray combo pack of DVD, Digital Download and On Demand on November 23rd. It will contain extras, making-of, deleted scene, and a gag reel. Even ‘Shrek Forever and After’ would be releasing a Blu-ray version on December 7th, and there would a combo pack which will be released on the same day, ‘Shrek – The Whole Story’. Both will have the usual deleted scenes, holiday programs, interactive game, and an insider’s look. ‘Nanny McPhee’ will be released in the new avatar of Blu-ray on December 5th. Last not the least, Universal Studios will be re-releasing few classics in Blu-ray format, but they failed to mention the titles and the dates.

It still is time for the releases, and even then there are people who rather not spend the money on them. My suggestion would be – all is not lost. There are number of DVD rentals, online or retailers or kiosk, which do have Blu-ray rentals. You can pretty much experience the HD quality without spending much and having fun with your family watching Shrek during Christmas!
