Columbus -noted Midwest trendsetting city- will launch its own Fashion Week on October 9th, beginning with a high tea sponsored by Mayor Michael B. Coleman

Sept. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Ohio’s capital city will solidify its budding reputation as a Midwest trendsetter by launching its own fashion week, beginning Saturday, October 9th with High Tea High Fashion –featuring Mayor Michael B. Coleman.
“Fashion Week Columbus is going to be one of the greatest things we are known for in our city,” said Mayor Coleman. “I support this one-hundred percent.”
Fashion Week creators said the event was established to showcase the talent of local artists and models, while offering an exciting chance to connect them with national markets. But for Columbus residents and guests Fashion Week is a chance to experience world-class fashion with a social consciousness.
A portion of each event’s proceeds will be donated to charitable causes, such as The Stefanie Spielman Fund, The Central Ohio Men Against Prostate Cancer Organization and The Fashion Week Columbus Foundation.
The week’s events include denim and bridal showcases, a boutique crawl through Columbus’ famous Short North district, and a host of other high-fashion happenings before culminating in a finale runway show at The Athletic Club of Columbus on Sunday, October 17th.
Already a celebrated market for fine tuning the trends that impact the rest of the country, Fashion Week Columbus is sure to elevate Ohio’s high-end climate control.
