Infinity Park To Host USAFA vs USNA Rugby Match

Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Glendale Colorado’s Infinity Park is hosting the rugby match between the US Air Force Academy and the US Naval Academy on Friday, October 1st   at 6:30 PM.  This event will feature appearances from top military brass and an exciting salute to the armed forces represented in the game.

The Air Force Academy Honor Guard will be Presenting the Colors.  Rugby fans at Infinity Park will also be treated to the thrill of an F-16 Flyover at approximately 6:25 PM, weather permitting.

The football teams from the two academies will meet Saturday at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.  “American football has its origins in the game of rugby, so it is very fitting that the weekend’s athletic competitions begin with the rugby match,” says Linda Cassaday, Deputy City Manager of Glendale.  “We are very honored to be hosting this prestigious match, and would love for this to become an annual tradition at Infinity Park.”

Glendale, also known as Rugbytown USA, will be rolling out the red carpet to fans and military dignitaries alike.  Infinity Park’s exclusive Guinness Try Club will be open to everyone for this game.  After the game, players from both teams have been invited to the Try Club to celebrate and mingle with fans.

Tickets for the US Air Force Academy vs US Naval Academy Rugby Match are $10 for the general public, with children under 12 admitted free.  Tickets for military personnel and veterans are $5.  Cadets and Midshipmen can get into the match free of charge. Infinity Park is located at 4599  East Tennessee Avenue in Glendale. Gates will open at 5:30pm and the game will start at 6:30 PM.
