GCA-DV's plans are highly advanced for the staging of 2010 Global Domestic Violence Conference in KL

The 2010 Global Domestic Violence Conference has added a list of prominent new speakers who will be presenting various results of their research studies and applied programs concerning the control and eradication of domestic violence in their areas.

Sept. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Western Australia's Minister for Child Protection, Community Services and Women's Interests, Hon. Robyn McSweeney is one of the featured speakers who will be speaking about WA's "Safe at Home Program" during the 2010 Global Domestic Violence Conference to be held at Prince Hotel, Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia on 1st - 3rd of November 2010. Over the last decade, action to address violence against women has become a priority in many countries. However despite these advances, violence against women and girls is a global pandemic. The problem remains universal, with women and girls affected by violence in every region and every country.

The year 2010 is an important time to reflect on progress, as it marks the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995 and the 10th anniversary of Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security. A recent 10-country study on domestic violence conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) still revealed between 15-71% of women reported physical or sexual violence by a husband or partner.

This 3-day event will offer a unique experience for the delegates. Attending this event presents an opportunity for workers in the field of domestic violence and human rights to form new alliances and opportunities at the same time gaining an intricate working knowledge of presented successful community programs and efficient strategy implementation outside your everyday working environment that may lead to improving your own's applied strategies in the eradication of domestic violence.
