CONNECT Computer Celebrates 25 Years of Technology Change With Sustained Success and a New Web Site CONNECT Computer, Inc. of Fairfield, Connecticut has been providing custom technology solutions to business since before Windows or the World Wide Web existed. Today’ Navigating Change CONNECT Computer was founded in 1985 to service a variety of back-office systems, amid Novell Netware and dial-up modems. The company evolved as did the industry into a world dominated by Microsoft and high speed, broadband connections. Today CONNECT has two main areas of practice: Network Solutions, encompassing everything from printer networking to desktop and server virtualization, and Data Center Solutions, which include software as a service (SaaS), “cloud computing,” disaster recovery and other hosted services from its dedicated Data Center. Lynn Souza, President, Information Technology noted, “the constant change of hardware and software products in the market, and staying technically adept at implementing and maintaining them, is our greatest challenge. Our professional consultants and systems engineers continually receive top-level training and certification by the leaders in software, servers, networking, telecomm, security, and backup, like Microsoft, Citrix, HP, Datto Backup, SonicWALL and many others, to meet our client’s expectations.” Forecasting the Future In the future, the firm expects increased competition from software manufacturers hosting their own products, and hosting companies becoming “cloud” providers of disaster recovery and business continuity. Competition and change won’t derail CONNECT Computer’s plans to expand in New England, then move regionally and nationwide through current and developing strategic partnerships. Their business model, emphasizing personalized service and strategic implementation of technology, is built to last. “We will stay competitive with our focus on in-depth understanding of our clients’ businesses, their technology needs and IT environments,” Contacts Alan D.
