Popular Travel Site "Your Travel Buddy™" Announces Las Vegas Travel Writer Contest!

Sept. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Your Travel Buddy™ and Your Travel Buddy Network, a family of online travel booking websites and travel blogs is pleased to announce our Las Vegas (Nevada) Travel Writer Contest.

We have begun our search for a Las Vegas travel writer that can submit unique articles on hotel and casino reviews, restaurant and show reviews, outdoor activities and other tourist attractions across the beautiful state of Nevada.

Why Las Vegas? Las Vegas and the surrounding area is one of the world's favorite tourist destinations. Over 30 million people visit here annually. Las Vegas is the 5th most popular foreign travel vacation destination in the world. It's also the top summer destination in the United States and the top Gambling Destination in the whole world!

Our search began with a simple job posting on Craigslist seeking a Las Vegas Travel Writer position we have created to assist our efforts in bringing our readers top quality resources surrounding travel and vacation opportunities throughout Nevada.

The Craigslist ad asks interested applicants to submit a sample of their work and offered compensation of $15-$25.00 per article and residual bonuses.

Our initial thoughts were that we might just get one or two inquiries about the Las Vegas Travel Writer position and accept one of these few applicants. We have been amazed at the number of applicants that we have received in just two days in our search for our travel writer, said Brent Vanderstelt, owner and editor of Your Travel Buddy™.

After reviewing several sample articles submitted by the applicants, I immediately knew that it was going to be very difficult to choose our travel writer from the large amount of talent vying for the position, added Brent.

This is when we decided to make a contest out of our search for our Las Vegas Travel Writer position. We are going to ask each applicant to submit a Nevada travel article that we will publish on our blog and ask our readers to vote on each article submitted and let our readers choose our travel writer.

Your Travel Buddy™ will accept resumes and article samples until 10/01/2010 and will begin publishing applicants Nevada Travel articles on 10/04/2010 and will run until all applicants have had a chance for their Nevada travel article to be published for 10 days.

We feel that this is a fun and interesting way to engage our readers and make our hiring position based on our readers opinions. This will also allow the applicants to gain exposure and add a byline for future references.
