Adrenalin shoots and scores for Western Collegiate Hockey Association with new logo

Adrenalin teams with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association to create a new logo for the premier college hockey conference in the U.S.
 
Sept. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- DENVER – Like a perfect slap shot that jets in for a goal, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) scored a new conference logo that exemplifies the new WCHA tag line “Just Got Tougher,” thanks to graphic logo design from Adrenalin, The Brand Expansion Team™.

Adrenalin’s goal in refining the existing WCHA logo was to hold on to many of the existing design elements, but update the look and create more of an emotional connection to one of the league’s main characteristics, the “W” for “Western.” As the WCHA just added two new teams to its lineup (University of Nebraska Omaha and Bemidji State University), the time was right for the update.

“In the rapidly changing landscape of college sports, the WCHA remains the premier college hockey league, so the need for a refined logo and positioning tag line was imperative. Our team analyzed the current logo and made modifications that are representative of the league's direction,” said Adrenalin Principal & Creative Director, Dan Price. “More emphasis was placed on the ‘W’ to pay homage to the league's name, new colors were introduced, and the player graphic was refined for more clarity in all applications, all of which will help the league’s brand expansion.”

The 12-team men’s WCHA consists of University of Alaska Anchorage, Bemidji State University, Colorado College, University of Denver, Michigan Technological University, University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State University, University of Nebraska Omaha, University of North Dakota, St. Cloud State University and University of Wisconsin.
