By: The Nest Ania Kubicki / Brooke Rodda ANGLES Public Relations 480-656-8388 ania@anglespr.com Phoenix, AZ – (Sept 17, 2010) -- The Nest Haunted House has a new location this Halloween season and a host of new attractions, but the producers are keeping last year’s “Scare Stimulus” package which offers free access on opening weekend to the Valley’s families that have been hard hit by the economy. Families of the unemployed, as well as families of the military and civil servants such as firefighters and police can receive complimentary tickets to The Nest on opening weekend; Friday and Saturday, September 24 – 25. Now situated on Rawhide’s grounds, The Nest will open to the public on Friday Sept. 24th at 7:00 p.m. In order to qualify for the free entrance, guests will be asked to show their Military ID Card, public safety ID card or a check stub from the unemployment office. Each guest who shows any of the above will receive free access for themselves and their entire family. The Scare Stimulus is only valid on the opening weekend. “With the economy not improving many Valley families are forced to cut back on the extras,” said Glenn Rea, producer for The Nest Haunted House. “This is our way of giving them an opportunity to enjoy a night out with their families and experience the best that Halloween has to offer.” The Nest is housed in a 50,000 - square foot structure, nestled behind the façade of Rawhide’s busy Main Street. The producers have outdone themselves this year, brining nearly $1 million in animatronics, special effects, and a brand new 3-D maze. America’s Best Haunts has named The Nest one of the scariest haunted attractions in the country. Since 2006, America’s Best Haunts has searched the nation to find the scariest and most innovative haunted attractions. Each year, a judging panel, of experts with more than 100 years of haunting experience, reviews, nominations, and selects the very best of the best. America’s Best Haunts recognized The Nest for innovation, stating, “This year, people in the Phoenix area are in for a real horror fest as The Nest unveils its new 3-D feature and takes haunted houses to a new level.” The Nest is the only haunted attraction in Arizona to receive this accolade from America’s Best Haunts. In addition to America’s Best Haunts The Nest has been named the scariest haunted attraction in the country by MSN. “Every year we improve the haunt and bring it to the next level,” added Rea. “This year, The Nest is truly a destination for the entire evening. From the brand new 3-D maze that tests the depth perception, to the Vortex tunnel that challenges the balance, to the darkest of all mazes that pushes all the fear buttons, we’ve got new attractions and new scares for all thrill seekers.” Every night from mid-September to the end of October, thousands of people venture onto the immense haunt. While there, visitors come face to face with some of the most fearsome and horrifying characters and scenarios in the haunted house industry. This year, visitors can explore these terrifying attractions... if they dare: • Mirror Mania – Over 100 feet of mirrors twisting and turning as guests stumble to find their way out. There is no relief for the weary as you enter straight into a graveyard full of many not so dead creatures. • Turmoil 3D – Prepare for a sensory overload as you enter this house with custom sound, video, illusions and even some crazed clowns that really bring this turmoil for your imagination to reality. • Bleak - It’s dark, it’s tight, it’s sure to be a nightmare for anyone even remotely claustrophobic. Victims, I means guests, will need to walk in a single file line as you won’t be able to see your hand in front of your face in the pitch black for over 3,000 feet. • The Nest- After weeding the faint of heart, only the bravest are left and prepared to face Jacob Kell. Guests are only able to visit Jacob’s realm after crossing the bridge from reality to parts never before seen. As your heart rate accelerates, the temperature drops dramatically as guests travel from the waiting room to the slaughter house. General admission is $25.00, with VIP admission available at $35.00 and includes front-of-line- For exact dates and hours of operation, and additional information about The Nest please visit www.frightened.com.
