Sept. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- A lithium ion battery has great advantages. A lithium ion battery is more powerful, efficient and has 70% lower weight compared to a traditional lead acid battery.

A lithium ion battery has a long lifetime. The lithium ion batteries can be used with 100% effect for 3000 cycles, that is eight times more than traditional lead/acid. In a period of ten years are a lithium ion battery able to give 300 cycles every year, without any loss of capacity.

The series of lithium ion battery packs: 100Ah, 160Ah, 200Ah, 300Ah and 400Ah. The lithium ion battery packs are a part of a series of  a complete power system. A Battery Management System or  Power Control Unit (with integrated BMS) is the central unit in the power systems.

The complete lithium power systems are well suited for automotive, marine/maritime and industrial use. The lithium ion battery based power systems gives opportunity to use 12 or 24 volt DC energy and 230 volt AC energy at the same time.  A combined inverter/charger gives the 230V pure sine wave and the inverter/charger begins automatically to charge when it is connected to mains/shore power.

Charging with a Combi 2012-100 (inverter/charger) gives extreme short charge times.

Charge times for the 12V lithium ion batteries are:
100Ah lithium ion battery: 1h
160Ah lithium ion battery: 1h:45min
200Ah lithium ion battery: 2h
300Ah lithium ion battery: 3h
400Ah lithium ion ivarc battery: 4h

For use of 24V power systems; 2x lithium ion batteries in serial connection. (the charge times will be doubled)

A lithium ion battery has very narrow voltage window, by this means that the battery capacity are more efficient utililized. A Complete power system with a lithium ion battery included has outstanding output times:

2000W – 230V consumption times:
100Ah lithium ion battery: 25min
160Ah lithium ion battery: 40min
200Ah lithium ion battery: 50min
300Ah lithium ion battery: 1h:15min
400Ah lithium ion battery: 1h:40min

Compared with a power system based on a traditional AGM (lead/acid) battery:
440Ah AGM lead/acid battery: 45min
