Sept. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Chicago –“Tulipa Maggie Daley,” the elegant, pink lily flowering tulip that bloomed for the first time this past spring along The Magnificent Mile, will be available to the public through The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA), which will sell the tulip bulbs for a suggested donation of $5 per bulb to benefit Children at the Crossroads Foundation, the charity chosen by Maggie Daley.

“Tulipa Maggie Daley” took 12 years to create and will bloom each year in the The Magnificent Mile median gardens as part of the annual Tulips on The Magnificent Mile event.  Just in time for planting season, Chicagoland gardeners have a rare opportunity to own a celebrated piece of The Magnificent Mile with the tulip bulb sale.  Only 1,700 “Tulipa Maggie Daley” bulbs are available.  The proceeds will be donated to Children at the Crossroads in Maggie Daley’s name.  Children at the Crossroads supports the needs of financially disadvantaged children by providing scholarships to The Frances Xavier Warde School.

To purchase the “Tulipa Maggie Daley” tulip bulbs, visit www.themagnificentmile.com and go to the HOTSPOT section.
