Sept. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- San Jose, CA – A new website will change the way people hire help for small jobs and chores. Gigats.com is an online marketplace where people can trade jobs with other community members by paying each other with the virtual currency called gigats.

By utilizing a virtual currency, community members aren’t limited to trading one-to-one with other members. They can perform work for another member of the community, earning gigats for their work, and spend those gigats on a job they need done with a completely different community member.

The Gigats community operates on the most basic economic principles, i.e. you work, you get paid, and you pay for something you need or want done for you. Ideally, the site could help people stuck in a recessionary rut break free and climb back into the workforce.

Pre-registration for the site begins on September 15th. By registering early, users will be rewarded gigats that can be spent when the site opens with full functionality on November 1st.

Up to 55 gigats can be earned for basic registration, but more can be earned by inviting friends and family to become members of the community as well. It’s all part of an effort to ensure that the site launches successfully with a lot of members able to spend gigats from day one.
