Calling All Soccer Stars!

Sept. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Soccer season has begun! And in case you missed spring sign up, here are some programs that are still open for registration.

Other than St. Mary’s, which has teams for as young as 4, these are all clinics that teach kids both basic and advanced soccer skills.

Kindergarten -2nd Grade Soccer, Tinton Falls: Tinton Falls has a separate clinic for each grade. They are instructional/mini game programs provided by the staff members of United Soccer Academy along with parent coaches.

Kindergarten -2nd Grade Soccer, Fair Haven: Fair Haven Soccer is affiliated with the Northern Monmouth Soccer Association (NMSA). At the kindergarten through second grade levels, the program incorporates professional trainers who work with the parent/coaches to familiarize the early player with basic ball handling skills.

Ages 3-9 Soccer, Atlantic Highlands: FirstPlay and Atlantic Highlands have partnered to offer a skills-based soccer experience for children ages 3-9. A variety of drills will be accompanied by age appropriate soccer games.

Kids Kixx, Dorbrook Rec Center, Colts Neck and WolfHill Rec Center, Oceanport: There are several Kids Kixx classes for ages 4-7. Skills, including dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught. Experienced instructors will use age appropriate games, demonstrations, and drills to teach the basics of soccer.

St. Mary’s Athletic Association, Middletown: St. Mary’s is one of the few organizations with soccer teams that are still open for registration. Teams are for ages 4-14.

New at the whole team registration thing? Most towns have fall soccer team registration in the spring usually starting around age 5.
