2010 launch of the glamorous awards recognizing the Ahlan! Best in Dubai

Sept. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- The Ahlan! Best In Dubai Awards, dubbed ‘The Emmys of the Emirate,’ recognizes the best the emirate has to offer in hospitality, culture, social and initiatives.

The public-nominated and voted for Awards reflect the true ‘people’s choice’ when it comes to Dubai and the 2010 awards are now officially open for nominations in categories as diverse as hospitality, sports, customer service and charity – these awards encompass all of the aspects that make Dubai the emirate to live, work and play in.

Katie Heskett, Editorial Director, Ahlan! says “There are many awards to be won in Dubai but when it comes to the trophy that everyone wants to take home, it’s the Ahlan! Best in Dubai. The only true people’s choice award in the city, these are the awards that aren’t decided by a committee or panel - it’s decided by people who live and work in Dubai.

“They are the people that go to the restaurants, bars and hotels. They are the members of the clubs and societies. They can see the impact the charities and initiatives are making in the city. They are the people who want to recognize and celebrate the “best” in what they see around them and Ahlan! is proud to be able to help them do that and help honour the city’s achievements in The Best in Dubai 2010.”

The shortlist will be announced on October 1st when voting will begin in earnest to find the Ahlan! Best of Dubai in every category. The categories which are up for nominations throughout the month of September are listed below and we encourage everyone to get nominating early to receive the popular early vote, which will be taken into account when the shortlist is compiled.

Ahlan! has joined forces with the diverse population of Dubai, featuring celebrities to everyday employees sharing with the public their favourite thing about Dubai. Look out for the campaign which will feature in print, through Ahlan!’s social media networks and on its website www.ahlanlive.com.

After glamorous even in November where the winners are revealed, Ahlan! will release The Best in Dubai 2010 book free with copies of Ahlan! magazine on sale on the 9th December 2010, highlighting both the winners and those who made the shortlist.
