Aug. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- The International High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), a consortium of law enforcement, private investigators and corporate security professionals, has awarded its annual “Chapter of the Year” honor to its New England chapter.

With its quarterly day-long training conferences held around the region and student charters at nearby educational institutions including Champlain College and the University of New Hampshire, the New England chapter focuses on high-quality networking and relationship-building for its membership, which with 250 members is one of the largest in the HTCIA community.

“The awarding of Chapter of the Year to the New England chapter shows the dedication and commitment these members of HTCIA have to furthering the organization's goals and to our core values,” said Todd Shipley, HTCIA International President. “What isn't mentioned is the fact that this year's award was a tight race between several chapters. The New England chapter as the oldest chapter in the running stands out by its long term commitment to HTCIA.”

David McSweeney, president of the award-winning chapter, said: “We couldn't be more pleased that our outreach efforts among local colleges and universities, along with our drive to deliver the best training from the best speakers to our members, earned us this recognition. We're looking forward to continuing our work with our partners and members.”

Chapter officers will receive the award on behalf of their group at the HTCIA International Conference being held this year in Atlanta, GA. The conference, which runs from September 20-22, will also honor the association's Case of the Year and Member Lifetime Achievement Awards.
