TX Chevrolet Dealer Supports Safe Kids

Aug. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- The event will be conducted by Safe Kids Mid-Texas and the Bell County Safety Initiative, in Cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).


Their goal is for each child to leave our event safer than they arrived. This is often achieved by educating the family on correct installation and use of the safety seat, and/or replacing an inappropriate child safety seat.


The event will begin at 9am and end at 11am at Don Ringler Chevrolet. They will have the Safe Kids Mid-Texas van in use and on display. They will be providing child safety seat inspections for families (free of charge), to help ensure child safety seats are being used correctly.

The new Texas Law (effective 9/1/09) states that a child up to 8 years old, unless taller than 4 feet 9 inches, must ride in a child safety seat. "Child safety seats" include booster seats, as well as car seats with an internal 5-point harness.



While most parents want to keep their children safe, they often don't know what it takes to correctly install their child's safety seat. Child safety seats and vehicle owner's manuals provide lots of information regarding use of child safety seats. Parents/care givers should always read through these materials when using a child safety seat.


Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available to educate parents/care givers in the correct use & installation of child safety seats.
