Aug. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Mongrel Announces New Singer - Jessica Sierra

Aggressive punk-rock-metal band MONGREL is very pleased to announce the addition of new vocalist Jessica Sierra, of the band Affliction. She joins the line up of Adam Savage (guitar), Rev (bass), and recently added drummer, Dave Kazukiewicz. Jessica began filling in for Mongrel at the beginning of July, and on 3 days notice did her first show with the band. "We've known Jessica as a friend and been a fan of her work with Affliction for years as she's an incredibly talented singer. When she applied for the full-time position we were very happily surprised and as we went through the audition process with our field of applicants it became clear that she was right fit for the band. After 6 years of male vocals, Jessica brings a fresh new energy and sound to the band which has really brought the songs to a new level. She's also brought back the 'family' vibe the band hasn't had in quite a while," stated band founder/guitarist Adam Savage. Plans to hit the studio this Fall are already underway.

Mongrel has been called "the hardest working band in Boston" (MetalEdge), and has recently been featured on the Streetcult Sampler alongside Skinlab and Primer55, and on the sampler accompanying the new Nikki Sixx biography "An Education in Rebellion". Songs from Mongrel's  latest release, the 5 song ep "Revenge" have been receiving steady play on Sirius/XM and Music Choice as well as various college and internet radio stations.
