Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- ROBINSON REED LAYTON SCOOPS AWARD AND SUCCESSFUL EXAM RESULTS FOR THE TEAM

Robinson Reed Layton has won a Marketing Accountant Partner of the Year Award 2010 which was presented at Sage’s first ever Accountant Awards held recently at the British Museum in London.

In the meantime, three of their team have achieved great results in their Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) exams which are essential in becoming a Chartered Accountant.

James Bailey, Tax Partner at Robinson Reed Layton said, “We are delighted to have won a national award and extremely proud of our team.  Stephen received the award at the ceremony on behalf of all of our staff and now that he has returned to the office with the trophy I wanted to echo his words of thanks to all of our staff who work extremely hard to ensure we are the leading accountancy firm in Cornwall. This is reflected in the team’s recent exam results”.

On presenting the award to Stephen Gainey of Robinson Reed Layton, Jayne Archbold, Managing Director, Sage Accountants Division, said, “We’re committed to providing our 14,000 accountant customers with the knowledge and support that they need for their business and I’m delighted to present this award to them. Accountants are really important to British Industry.”

She continued: “This is a practice that has shown a willingness to construct a structured and targeted marketing plan, they’ve held events and seminars to attract and engage with current and new clients and they are the first Accountant Partner in their region to work proactively with Sage for a number of years.”

The Sage Accountants awards are designed to celebrate and recognise the achievements of accountants in practice and the contribution they make to UK businesses.

The awards were presented at Sage’s annual Connect conference for accountants and were hosted by Nick Hewer from BBC TV’s The Apprentice and Jane Archbold, Managing Director of Sage Accountants' Division. Judged by a panel of independent industry experts and Sage senior management, the awards consist of 12 categories designed to enable participation by practices of all sizes.

Back in Cornwall three of Robinson Reed Layton’s Chartered Accountant students have passed exams at their recent sittings. They all worked extremely hard, demonstrating their commitment to the firm and increasing their skills and knowledge to benefit clients.

Dan Orasnjak, who started with Robinson Reed Layton in 2008, has successfully completed his "Professional Stage" exams and will now progress to the "Advanced Stage".

Meanwhile David Horwell and Vicky Reynolds have passed two examinations each in the "Professional Stage". Vicky and David started their Training Contracts with Robinson Reed Layton at the end of last summer and are showing huge potential - Vicky achieved 91% in her Financial Accounting paper!

The ICAEW exams to become a Chartered Accountant take up to three years to complete once a candidate has joined the firm on a training contract.
