Solar panels on the roof provide hot water for the towers and all units are equipped with heat recovery ventilators that capture and recycle unused energy. A rainwater collection system on the roof feeds grey water into the building’s 4.6-litre low-flush toilets. Shower and sink fixtures are all low-flow.

“We have been able to cut both energy and water consumption by 50 percent,” says Manherz.
