July 24, 2010 - PRLog -- While We think all have started using broadband for internet and there is no more dial-up connections, There is a shocking report for you That “ AOL still has a 5 million customers paying for dial-up”. There is still a case for 56Kb modems in this age of 100Mb broadband - let us know.

There is a common misconception that this is the age of high-speed Internet , There is no dial up connections and they are no longer used. Its is true that the usage of dial up has decreased after the influence of broadband, But there are still a lot of people throughout the UK and every where continue to connect through this method. But why do people still prefer this method?

The First is its Familiarity, When Internet really took off all those years ago, the only way to connect was through a dial up modem. We have an icon in our desktop and by double clicking it We connect internet through it. But now the process may have become a lot simpler, with no dialing up or even wires, but people are still using to the old method and not willing to change.

But dial up is slow only when its compared to broadband, But for people who have not used the broadband and using dial up since from the start to the Internet, there may be no need to upgrade. With their dial up they can still check their mails, Surf the net and use instant messaging programs, which is more enough for most people.

People are still gaining access Dial  up even in the year 2010, there are still areas of the UK that cannot get a good enough broadband signal to use it frequently. Since they have a phone line then they can connect to internet with dial up, which means no signal issues have disturbed their consistent speed.

Choosing which type of Internet connection is largely dependent on the usage of Internet and their purpose, but broadband is the obvious choice for most  businesses.  Even, Wireless and mobile broadband is not something that dial up can support. But still people reliable on this service that continues to hold a significant share among Internet users.
