July 22, 2010 - PRLog -- The DMA have amended their Code of Practice to ensure marketers are environmentally responsible and data8 have a service to help companies hit these targets.
For the first time the DM Code sets out a series of guidelines concerning the use of data hygiene, making environmental claims in marketing materials, sourcing of sustainable paper, certification in environmental standards such as PAS 2020, adhering to a corporate environmental policy and using recycling messages on printed materials. This fourth edition of the DM Code of Practice will be enforced from 1 September 2010
data8’s Sustainable Data takes all of the data aspects within PAS2020, and offers Direct Marketers a one-stop solution to ensure that their data and data processes are compliant. The additional benefit is that it will enable them to comply with all of the data conditions of the Royal Mail's Sustainable Mail solution enabling Direct Marketers to save up to an additional 4.7% off their postage costs.
One of the important elements of Sustainable Mail is that each item of mail must show the consumer how to opt out of any further marketing mail from the sender. data8 have developed a site, optoutlive.co.uk, where marketers can offer their prospects an easy opt out service and in the future will save on sending genuinely unwanted mailings, it also help ensure marketers achieve maximum mailing discounts from the Royal Mail.
