Candymaker Sue Sue Scalf-Mankin recently made the acquaintance of a Califiornia pistachio farmer, inspiring Head Candymaker Jill Demeny to create a fresh Lemon-Pistachio Ganache and transform it into rich Truffle spheres enrobed in silken bittersweet chocolate. Like all of the confections at Southern Candymakers, including the award-winning pralines, these candies are handmade in small batches with absolutely no preservatives so quantities are very limited. Meanwhile Scalf-Mankin, felt the call of the tropics, leading to the creation of Key Lime Pie Fudge – vanilla fudge tinged with fresh lime juice and zest, swirled with a ribbon of graham cracker crumbs and topped with creamy, marshmallow- # # # Founded in 1992 by Pete Thompkins and Chuck Williams, Southern Candymakers crafts all delicacies, including pralines, to order.
