July 21, 2010 - PRLog -- In its recent market updates, Dataxis Intelligence  finds out that the French mobile market got off the year 2010 to a bad start both in terms of new customers acquisition as well as revenues generated by operators.

As a matter of fact, overall mobile subscribers in France remained stagnant at around 57 million in the semester to March 2010 while on a year basis they rose by 4% up from 54.5 million.

In the same time, the mobile revenues experienced an erratic evolution as shown on the figure below, thus up-taking from €5.7 billion in early 2009 to reach record level of €5.9 billion in mid-year before stabilizing at €5.8 in the two following quarters, and finally driving down to its a year earlier level in the first quarter of 2010.

As a result, the monthly Average Revenue per User (Arpu) fed a similar trend varying from its highest level of €36 in the second quarter of 2009 to its lowest level of €34 in the quarter to March 2010.
