July 21, 2010 - PRLog -- A survey of 20,000 high street businesses has shown that 50% of them are actively looking to switch card processing services to a better deal.

Small owner managed businesses are particularly concerned with the cost of card processing services, considering it an unchecked tax of sales. Despite recent trends in the market UK business owners believe that banks are not under enough pressure to lower the cost of card processing transactions or the monthly cost of terminals.

James Wilson, Head of Marketing at business services company XLN Telecom, which has over 125,000 micro business customers said “We’ve worked hard to help our customers save money on their phone bills, with low cost line rental, calls and broadband. After phone costs the next big concern for small businesses is how to cut this tax on sales. We’ll do our best to help them”
