Why People Buy Online

A look at buyers habits and online methods.

July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The internet has changed how people shop, but its also added in new reasons why people buy. One big question is that plagues internet marketing specialists is where is the tipping point for shoppers. At what point does someone decide to buy a product.

To be more specific lets look at three different business models. In the first model we see items on Amazon selling for one cent, with four dollar shipping this. Obviously a book can be shipped for less so the company is making the money off of the shipping. This is a new model that has arisen because of the internet.

Next we have a standrard model where the buyer only pays for what shipping costs. For this example I will use the example of the grill parts store http://www.grilparts.ws Grill Parts ws. This shite shows both good prices on grill parts and expects the buyer to pay full shipping, in this case usually around ten dollars. An honest method, but people will decided not to buy once they see shipping.

Finally we have discounted or free shipping. The grill parts site http://www.grillparts.us Grill Parts US shows an slighly higher price for its grill parts, but has a flat rate shipping. Compared side buy side it might not look as apealing as Grill Parts WS, but if they get the buyer into the site and starting to check out they may keep buys that the other would not.

Simply put, buyers habits are complex and made more so buy the new online market place. The question is, what type of buyer are you?
