VA Certifies TSG Government Services for New Veterans First Contracting Program

July 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Manhattan Beach, CA – July 8, 2010 – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE), has certified TSG Government Services (http://www.tsg-gs.com) as a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) (http://www.acq.osd.mil/osbp/programs/veterans/index.htm) and as a founding member of the Veterans First Contracting Program.

The Veterans First Contracting Program responds to official guidance that provides preference to SDVOSB and VOSB firms.(http://fl.elitesdvob.org/index.php/legislation-sdvob/51-veterans-first-contracting-veteran-affairs).

Hess noted that, while he is a Vietnam-era service disabled veteran, this program will be extremely beneficial to the many disabled veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts who are leaving military service and creating their own businesses.

Hess’s firm, TSG Government Services (http://www.tsg-gs.com), has recently completed IT technology projects related to social media architecture for the government, although these contracts were not awarded under the Veterans First Contracting Program.

TSG Government Services' president and founder, Robert Hess, also is a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Digital Future - http://www.digitalcenter.org -  Annenberg School, University of Southern California, and conducted the field focus groups and authored the final report for the Center's DoD research project studying how military families use the Internet.
