The “Going 4 Green” festival is a forum to explore and build sustainable solutions for the community and environment. With an expected attendance of over 40,000, the Oakland debut festival will offer a host of environmental speakers, local & national green businesses, talent, and a handful of community and non-profit groups. The goal is to raise awareness of green living, which will increase the efficiency of individual’s daily lives. The push to go green is increasing and studies show that the percentage of Americans who worry about the environment the most have increased from 62% to 77% between 2004 and 2006. While raising awareness, the intent is to combine the increasing popularity of green business and the concept of healthy eating, into a fun-filled, family-oriented street fair.
