Get your company active with the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k

July 7, 2010 - PRLog -- There are only three months to go until the 30th Anniversary of the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k, and event organisers are looking for companies to take part in the challenge.

Many local companies already have teams taking part, one such company is the event’s main title sponsor the Admiral Group.

As was the case in 2009, Admiral have their own race set within the 10k, with trophies on offer for their staff, such as prizes for the first male and female from the company to finish. They are looking to surpass last year’s total of 75 employees taking part.

There have also been entries from Active Swansea, The Village Hotel, Alberto Culver, Swansea Council’s Road Safety team and Real Radio.

Nigel Jones, Special Events Manager said “We have already received a number of entries from employees of local companies entering a team. Not only does it help keep employees active, but it is also good for team building.

“We are looking for even more companies to take part this year”.

It’s not just the 10k race on offer. There is a separate 10k wheelchair race, along with open junior 1k, 3k and 5k races. Junior races are only £7 per entry.

Entries for the race close on 31 August. But prospective runners in all races are encouraged not to leave registration until too late, as the capacity has been reached and entries closed before the official closing date for the last 4 years, such is the popularity of this event.

This event takes place on Sunday 26 September with the main 10k race starting at 1pm. The cost of 10k entry is £13.50 for UKA affiliated runners and £15.50 for non UKA affiliated runners.  You can save 50p by entering online.
