WWW is Never Going to be the Same Again

WWW — the World Wide WOB — offers preschoolers and parents online fun while they learn… together

July 6, 2010 - PRLog -- The WWW is never going to be the same again.  The World Wide Wob (www.thewob.com), an internet site for preschoolers and their parents with an emphasis on learning and fun, is set to go live in just a few short weeks.  Featuring stunning visuals, creative graphics and a full multimedia slate of interactivity, Wob World is a one-stop, one-shop online playground for both children and their parents.

Thewob.com is the brainchild of Rosalind Goly, a 47-year-old entrepreneur whose grandchildren were her inspiration for creating Wob World.  “This is a dramatic departure from my other business ventures,” noted Goly, whose previous successes include forays into real estate and precious metals.

Although Goly raised her children in the 1980s before the advent of the internet and its myriad educational and entertainment resources for kids, she’s an involved grandparent who was dissatisfied by the dearth of legitimate, quality online educational sites for preschoolers.  “There are a few good sites, but they’re pretty limited in terms of content.”

Goly knows that the world in which her grandchildren are growing up will require that they be absolutely, 100% comfortable with computers and the virtual world of the internet.  She also knows that her grandkids will need to be completely at ease dealing with people from different cultural and religious backgrounds.  “Fostering multicultural understanding and sensitivity was another of my many goals in creating Wob World,” she said.

Goly’s plans are nothing if not ambitious.  She’s invested a fortune in the site thus far and realizes that there’s plenty more work to be done. “I never do anything half way,” she said.  “I figured that this might as well be the best darn site on the whole internet for preschoolers and their parents, or why bother.”  As a sample of that quality, Goly points to the 30-second video she recently released to promote the site (http://www.youtube.com/user/Wobville).

Within Wob World, children will find many different villages, each with a different focus, but all integrated using the WOB character and his friends.  By visiting the different areas of the site and participating in the activities, children will learn language arts, math, science, social studies and more.  Plus stranger danger, keyboarding, and a complete range of life skills ranging from nutrition to good manners. The site will automatically track each child’s progress so that every visit will provide new challenges and allow children to make consistent progress.

“Victory Island is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Wob World,” gushed Goly.  “It’s a special place for kids with special needs.  On Victory Island, special needs children can learn about and be inspired by the successes of other children like themselves who have overcome their challenges to achieve amazing things.”

Because Goly knows that leaving a child online unattended can be a dangerous proposition, thewob.com has multiple security features to ensure that children cannot accidently navigate away from the safety of Wob World.

Goly has also launched a book series featuring the WOB and other characters from Wob World.  Published by Wandering Sage Publications, the first installment, entitled “Where Does Bubble Gum Come From?” is available at Barnes & Noble and on amazon.com.  Each book, which Goly will be releasing on an every-other-month basis, will tell a true story and has a strong educational component.  Goly is also planning to launch Wob World-branded plush and educational toys, as well as a line of quality, affordable Wob clothing.
