Escape From Sunday School - Summer Read

The kids who inhabit Ofer Aronskind's young adult novel entitled "The Celebrities of Summer School" do just that.  On a dare, Mattie Kleinfeld and his three buddies ditch school, hop a train and take off for the big city.  In search of Mattie's summer camp girlfriend, Nicole, the boys take off for NYC and soon find themselves in all sorts of crazy adventures.  From escaping a mugging to running away from a deranged cab driver to crashing a private party, the boys go from one end of the city to another.  From the Empire State Buiding to Radio City Music Hall, the boys hit all the hotspots of NYC at Christmastime.

The action never stops as the story takes the reader on a wild subway ride through the streets of Manhattan.  "Escape From Sunday School" is a must read for any boy who loves action, adventure and the thrills that come with hanging out with your friends.  A great summer read!

Ofer Aronskind grew up in a camping family. The Aronskinds operated summer camps in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts for over 15 years. The adventures and anecdotes in this book, although fictionalized, are his boyhood memories.
