Something New For Brit’ Crime Fans

A British-based author has endeavoured to buck the trend of traditional crime fiction in a bid to inject action and reality into his new book.

June 17, 2010 - PRLog -- New writer Adam Grieve’s novel, “DEAD MAN’S CLICK” has taken a new approach to the traditional U.K crime thriller, using the central character of a uniformed Constable as opposed to the more traditional cheap-suited Detective.

“No whisky-drinking Inspector from Criminal Investigation Department here, but the humble Beat Bobby”, said Grieve.  “I wanted to come at the story from a more gritty and practical angle, so I concentrated on street-level policing”.

What sets this novel aside from other crime thrillers is the insight it brings into the realities of modern law enforcement in the U.K.  In his book, Grieve’s main character, Trent Black has to use this knowledge to out-fox not only an international crime syndicate but his own police colleagues.

Set against the backdrop of rural England with a high-speed excursion into the City of London, the story starts with a bang and maintains its rapid momentum through a variety of twists and turns as Black endeavours to keep ahead of his pursuers and bring an end to his increasing desperate situation.  “I wanted to show that you can still have action in the pages of a book.  I know of people who’ve lost a night’s sleep or missed a business meeting due to their pressing need to turn the next page”, the author added, “so I guess that’s a good thing!”

“DEAD MAN’S CLICK” by Adam Grieve is produced by Lulu Publishing, and is available in either Paperback or Download.
