Disney to roll out Korean-language channels with SK Telekom

June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Disney Channel International has signed an agreement with SK Telecom to introduce Korean-language Disney Channels. It is the world’s first Disney channels launched as a joint venture. SK Telecom would hold 51% in the joint venture, and The Walt Disney Company the remaining 49%.

The channels are Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney, dedicated to kids and families. These channels will be available over cable, satellite and iptv in Standard Definition and High Definition.

The launch is set for Spring 2011, pending approval from Korea Communications Commission.
