By: Debra A. Estock The media is invited to cover this spectacular worldwide event and witness the determination of FlashForward fans in getting the TV series another season. FlashForward, adapted for television by Brannon Braga and David S. Goyer, aired between September 24, 2009 and May 27, 2010. The show was based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer. The show’s premise is based on a mysterious event, which causes everyone on the planet to black out for two minutes and 17 seconds on October 6, 2009. During the global blackout or GBO, those that lost consciousness saw FlashForwards or visions of their lives six months into the future. The fan campaign sprung up worldwide moments after ABC announced the show would not be renewed for a second season. Dozens of Facebook pages were created, including Save FlashForward, BringBackFlashForward, Against FlashForward Cancellation, Do Not Cancel FlashForward, Stop FlashForward Being Cancelled, and many more.
