May 25, 2010 (Vancouver, WA) Bowserwear, LLC based in Vancouver, WA announces the release of Healers pet booties and gauze pads, their first in an upcoming line of products designed to assist pet owners in managing their pets injuries.  With the summer’s higher temperatures and pet owner’s increase in outdoor activities, dog’s paws are more susceptible to injuries. Bowserwear’s ‘Healers’  medical dressing is designed to improve the healing process by offering a wrap around protective dog bootie that fits snuggly and protects the paw.   The application of Breath-O-Prene® patented technology provides critical air flow around the wound while wicking away moisture that can cause infection. Healer’s medical dressing has a customized non-adherent gauze insert that turns the protective bootie into a bandage. The gauze will not stick to the wound while healing, and makes it easy for the pet owner to apply medicine and change the bandage as the paw heals. Founder, Terri Entler, created this specialized product line after she experienced the challenge of bandaging her German shepherd’s paws when he injured his paw pads after hiking on Black Butte, Oregon on a very hot day.  “The pads were swollen and bleeding, Jake could barely walk.” said Terri, ”I had to keep the paws wrapped in gauze to stop the bleeding. Twice a day I had to remove the bandages, soak the paws in iodine solution to prevent infection, and re-bandage. The gauze would stick to the wound and the bandage wrap would not stay on.  I went to find booties and couldn’t find anything on the market that worked in this situation. Most of the booties out there today are designed purely for cosmetic use.  Cosmetic booties would fit poorly and didn’t allow air flow, which is critical to the healing process. I decided there had to be a better way. So I created Bowserwear,LLC, to develop products for the care of injured and allergy stricken pets.”  Bowserwear products are designed in Vancouver , USA and are manufactured in Buffalo, NY.  Product is currently being sold on the web and through your local veterinary clinics. About the Founder: Terri Entler, President/CEO, has an Engineering degree from University of Portland and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has experienced firsthand the effect of the downturn economy when she was laid off from Intel Corporation in 2006 and then again from nLight Corporation in 2008.
