May 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Bathing suit angst? Debbie Kuhn has a solution which might make Dr. Freud smile and relight his cigar. Debbie's answer is girltrunks and here's how she created her gift to women.

Debbie, an art consultant, had an invite to whitewater tube in Big Sky Country, Montana. She loved the idea, didn't love her suit, was a little phobic; the not so secret is most women are, unless their name is Gisele Bundchen.

So, Debbie thought hard and was blessed with creativity: she'd pair boys' swim trunks with a tankini. She did; it was all good, and she had a fabulous time in the river while feeling cool and stylish.

She came back to Northeast Ohio, thought, played on the sewing machine, researched, talked to her buds, created prototypes, auditioned manufacturers and, voila: the niftiest fashion idea since boyfriend jeans. Dr. Freud was probably smiling because he finally had an answer to his famous question: What Does a Woman Want? Answer: among many other things, she wants stylish swimwear which gives her more control over what is revealed or isn't  and she wants that suit to work whether she's in water, a lounge chair, on an errand, whatever.

Debbie remembers being in a Montana grocery and thinking, "I'm in a grocery in my swimsuit without a cover-up. Liberation."

It's been almost a decade . What Debbie has now (for sale) is a collection  of stylish two-piece swimsuits that double as shorts, dry incredibly quickly and give chic, confidence, control. They're astonishingly comfortable and utterly inter-generational: teens to grandmothers. Two trunk lengths - 7" and 11" inseams - for $79 and coordinating tanks for $59. My girltrunks allowed me to laugh and play on the Sunshine Coast of Australia in freedom, comfort and style. They're what we've been waiting for: great fit and fashion forward."

One hopes Dr. Freud is watching and feeling good that one of his questions has been answered.
