Mama Cares Foundation Partners with Mogiv on Mobile Communications Campaign to Fight World Hunger

May 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Carlsbad, CA, Mama Cares Foundation, a non-profit foundation focused on eliminating severe acute malnutrition, announced today that it has partnered with Mogiv, a giver communication system that leverages web and mobile-based technologies to connect non-profit organizations to their donors. Together they are reaching out to raise funds that will support the Mama Cares Foundation’s fight to eliminate severe acute malnutrition. Beginning May 14, 2010 anyone can join in the battle to end malnutrition by sending a simple text message: any dollar amount to revive@mogiv.com (for example a gift of $100 could be sent via SMS or e-mail as 100 to revive@mogiv.com).

RE:VIVE™ is a fortified nut-based ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), which can be extremely effective in helping to alleviate the world hunger problem. It is in production and will soon be distributed in Africa and throughout the world. A generous donor has stepped forward and has committed to match the first $100,000 in donations that come in by May 31 earmarked to support RE:VIVE™ with an additional $50,000 contribution made if enough funds are raised for the full match.

“RE:VIVE™ has the potential to save thousands, even millions of lives. This initial drive could pull in a total of $250,000 and give the launch of production of this life saving food a huge boost,” said Mike Mellace, executive director, Mama Cares Foundation.

“We built the Mogiv system to support transformative non-profit efforts like what the Mama Cares Foundation is doing with RE:VIVE™. This represents an exciting opportunity for us to be a part of a larger effort to literally save lives,” said James Lawrence, CEO, Mogiv.

The RE:VIVE™ campaign is the first live implementation of Mogiv’s unique giving platform. Mogiv enables donors to give quickly, easily and meaningfully from anywhere at anytime, turning any mobile phone or Internet-enabled device into a giving conduit.
