SOBA Malibu Recovery Center launches Individualized and Confidential Professionals' Program

May 17, 2010 - PRLog -- SOBA Malibu Recovery Center has developed a comprehensive professionals’ program for attorneys, physicians, and other high-profile professionals with addiction, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder issues. The treatment team takes a customized approach to meet the individualized needs of these professionals, with the understanding that  their health, and livelihood may be in jeopardy.

Typically a potentially career ending event happens, such as a professional is arrested for forging prescriptions or a DUI and he or she is referred to the state’s licensing board or to a professional health program (PHP). Or an employer becomes concerned because they smell alcohol on the professional’s breath or medication is missing.

“Many professionals come to SOBA with thoughts that their life as they knew it is over, that they’ll never practice law or medicine again, or that clients or patients will flee because of their addiction,” said Greg Hannley, CEO of SOBA Malibu Recovery Center. “But with the SOBA social model program we have in place, our clients see people who just started treatment, as well as people who have been going to AA meetings for many  years.
